Jelly – work, chat, collaborate … If you work from home, it’s good to have the opportunity to get out and work somewhere else – and to have some company sometimes – someone to chat to over coffee and discuss topical news over lunch. Jelly co-working days provide several opportunities in Shropshire. Shrewsbury Jelly meets on the second Thursday of the month – next one 11th June at the Quirky Coffee Shop, Bear Steps, Shrewsbury and Whitchurch Jelly is the third Thursday of the month at Dearnford Lake near Whitchurch. It’s free to attend and all you need is a laptop.
Dearnford Lake has been hosting Whitchurch Jelly for several years now, there is good internet access, excellent tea and coffee and a delicious lunch menu, served in the lodge, with a beautiful view, overlooking the lake.
Dearnford hosts lots of different events during the year, raising money for many different charities with car boot sales and collectors fairs (next one Sunday, 14th June in aid of Relay for Life); and Saturday 13th June is the Macmillan Summer Ball.
Drumhead Cottage Plants are available at the lodge all year round and there is a Plant Hunters Fair on Sunday, 2nd August. Monday 20th July is Robin Hood the Musical and Thursday 3rd September sees the return of open air Shakespeare with ‘Twelfth Night’. For full details of all events visit www.dearnford.com
